It is the story of James J. Braddock. He earned his nick, the Cinderella Man, because of his fairytale like rise from a poor local fighter to the heavyweight boxing champion of the world. Russell Crowe plays the role of the boxer, James, and Renée Zellweger his wife. This story is from the period of ‘The Great Depression’ that hit America in the early 30′s.
It is the story of this boxing legend, of how he fights back after being down and out for a long time, but he never gives up only so his family can survive. One of the best comeback stories in the history of Boxing.
This is going to be one of my favorite movies, hats of to the wonderful direction by Ron Howard, and fantastic acting by Russell Crowe and Renée Zellweger.
Something pretty close to Beautiful Mind. Great movie to catch in the theatres.
