The Devil Wears Prada

devil wears prada

I think this was my first movie with a FASHION genre. To be honest I have never been a fashion person; so some of the obsessive fashion potrayed by Meryl Streep was beyond my contemplation ability.
So this is how the story goes:
Anne Hathway is a fresh graduate looking for a job as a journalist. She is sent by HR for a job interview at RUNWAY which is run by Meryl Streep. Inspite of being unfashionable Anne gets hired as the second assistant. Anne takes up this job even though she doesn’t like the work environment for the rent money and because this would help her get a job in any of the publications.

Soon her roller coaster ride starts with Meryl Streep, starting the day from getting her coffee to running all her errands. Anne loses control of her personal life in between all this but soon realizes that this is not what she wanted.

Will she be able to get out of this and get her simple but calm life back? Well you got to watch it to find out. My 3 stars out of 5 for this one.

Two years and moving along…

February 25th, 2007 my Volkswagen Jetta completed 2 years with me. I received this email from the LA Car Guys and Volkswagen Santa Monica; the email was so cool that I had to put it up on my blog. Here it is:

Your PRESENT should make your PAST worth remembering

I am pretty sure each and every one of us now and then sits and thinks about their past.

Different people have different times when they think about their past moments. But I can guarantee that this happens at a time when one is alone or when one takes a short moment / break from the everyday tedious schedule.

Lets call these as “SELF-MOMENTS” or as Ash says “ME-TIME” (I kind of like “ME-TIME”).

Brain Img

As you see in the Brain Diagram above, you notice that there is already a lot of stuff going on in there. This make the “ME-TIME” even more crucial in your everyday life.

For me, I usually go into my FLASHBACK when I am listening to a particular song that I relate to a happy, sad, anxious or tense moment in my life. Some of the moments are so embarassing or tense that I try to run away from them even in my mind :) .

Earlier this was not so bad as music was the only time I would think about the past. But lately I have started taking more “ME-TIMES” where I try to relax and get away from a hard days work. Now I am running away from my mind even more….hehehe….not a good thing huh!!

Kind of makes the whole purpose of the “ME-TIME” useless. Instead of relaxing I end up making it worse. Most of your past memories (and I say most because obviously no one has a PERFECT life) should make you smile and feel nice about yourself.

Well what’s done is done. How about a fresh start? Next time you say or do anything, just ask yourself: “when I remember this later will it make me feel good”. Lets make “The Present Make The Past Worth Remembering”. This PRESENT will be a great PAST to remember, that’s for sure.
